Surprise for the Bride

Something magical happened for us over the weekend. On Saturday while we were at the Community Center (celebrating the Red Bluff Ukulele Club’s 7-year anniversary), a young gentleman (stranger) asked us if we could play the song “Married Life” as a surprise for his bride as she walked down the aisle at their wedding later that afternoon. We had never played the song before, three of our members are brand new (including the fiddler) and we only had a couple of hours to arrange and practice the song. Here is the result.

South Redding Ukulele Club Launch

We are thrilled to say that the South Redding Ukulele Club has officially launched. Here is a clip from the very first meeting which was held in Redding, CA on Thursday, September 15th. This is the first song the group played together: You Are My Sunshine. This is a great group - they clearly know their way around ukuleles. We look forward to leading meetings for the South Redding Ukulele Club twice monthly moving forward on the first and third Thursday at 5:30PM.

New club members and new instruments

We had a great time last night at our September meeting. We had two new members show up (welcome Barbara and Virginia).
We also added a couple of new instruments - in this video, Jenni is on harmonica and Madrone (off camera) is on mandolin.

Live Event (TCM 2022)

We had a lovely time performing at the Tehama County Museum (TCM) 2022 History Keepers and Seekers RENDEZVOUS event today. This was a fun event and we were happy to be there playing some of our club's favorite songs. AFter the gig, a few of us went out to Shari's for a bite to eat (I think this will be a new post-gig tradition for us - the group will grab some grub together).

Here are a few videos of us on the little stage parked in the shade at the Museum:

Meetings are fun

We always have a great time playing with friends at our meetings. Here are a couple of photos from our meetings this week. The first is from our impromptu meeting out at the airport on Monday. The second photo is from last night's meeting at the Red Bluff branch of the Tehama County Library. Much thanks to all who showed up for our final practice session before this weekend's performance which will be at the Tehama Museum's History Keeper's and Seeker's event on Saturday. We also want to send a shout out to our newest club member (seen holding our pink smiling ukulele) who originally found us through the Tehama County Library "Uke Can Do It" events this summer.
